New to playing... Want to know the best way to get the best "sounds"
I'm looking to start a rock band, and I'm wondering what kind of effects/pedals would be good for playing shows, and just good in general for a rock band. The rock I play is most progressive, but with quite a bit of experiment and heavy in it too. My favorite band is Coheed and Cambria, and I love their sound.
So, what things should I buy? I do have a price limit, but for the sake of this question, let's say I do not.
Ie. what type of guitar effects pedals should I use. I play a paul reed smith guitar straight through a system, which the guitar is flawless no problems there. I really like boss pedals.
Some guitar effect manufacturer like Boss & Digitech have pedal like the Octave 1 , 2 & the latest is 3 . what's the diff? i want to produce sounds like Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine @ Audioslave). i know he uses Octave-3 , but that's way too expensive for a single pedal for me.. Oct-1 is cheap,but can i get practically the same sound..? can anybody help ?
