Discount Effect Pedals

I know the old version had 24 presets and the new one has like 32 and that the interface is revised and alot more user friendly, but I wanted to know if the effects in the original are as good as the effects in the new version. Is it just that the new one has 9 or so extra effects and the others are the same? or are the original effects revised and enhanced in some way? Perticularly interested in the distortions. I heard these pedals didnt performs well in these areas.

I have looked at a bunch but they all have like 10 amps. I am looking for a unit that has a lot of amps (especially high gain amps) and stompbox distortion pedals.

I just bought a line 6 floor pod guitar multi effects pedal and i was wondering how i connected it to my amp-guitar?
I have already tried to connect one guitar plug from my guitar to my pedal and then plug another from my pedal to my amp but no sound comes out of the amp???

I mainly play acoustic guitar but bought an electric a couple months ago. I'm looking at the Boss Distortion DS1, but have realized that I know nothing about how to connect pedals and which kind to get. Any ideas? I have a Epiphone Les Paul and an Epiphone amp, so...

i have a guitar amp with one input and i need 2 guitars to be played out of it, is their an effect pedal that can do this?

I'm looking into buying an effects pedal for my electric guitar. But with so many different effects to choose from I don't which one will satisfy me the best.
By the way my amp has a distortion button, and my guitar is just a real cheap beginnings with no pickup selector switch and it has tow pickups very close to the bridge.
